Putney is a thriving riverside town in the heart of south west
London that manages to combine a central location close to the
West End with a real neighbourhood feel.

Film, Theatre, Culture and Leisure |
There are a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops,
bars and pubs, plus a cinema (www.odeon.co.uk),
a library and a leisure centre (www.dcleisurecentres.co.uk).
There’s even a theatre, the Putney Arts Theatre, which is home
to two theatre groups (www.putneyartstheatre.org.uk).

Shopping |
Shopping is good, with the Putney Exchange shopping centre, a
regular French market, branches of Waitrose and Sainsburys, plus
a range of chain stores and independent shops in the High Street
and Upper and Lower Richmond Roads.

Open Spaces |
There are some beautiful open spaces nearby, including, of
course, the Embankment along the river
Thames, which is home to several rowing clubs. Putney Heath

Putney is a place where people like to get involved. There is an
active residents’ association, the Putney Society, which
campaigns about transport, development and other issues (www.putneysociety.org.uk).

Putney is part of the Borough of Wandsworth. Visit

Putney has its own community website,
